No, I really enjoy doing the outreach at the university and think it’s such an important way to show what chemistry is all about. It’s an opportunity I never had at school so would love to get other involved. I’d hope to be able to get my old school to get involved.

If I’m lucky enough to win the prize, I do intend to spend it as I advertised on my profile page. I actually mentioned two possible ideas, depending on the budget. But if you have any further suggestions, I’d be happy to hear them!

Hi James, I think the two charities I have mentioned in my profile would be so grateful for the donation as it will really help to give all young people an equal opportunity to learn about STEM in an engaging way.
Is there something that you had in mind which would promote the engagement and communication of STEM subjects?

I’ll use the money to create interactive resources for the STEM outreach group to use in schools. I’m thinking cut away power station, what is the fission reaction and something to use with our VR headset… Simulate how difficult it can be to work in a nuclear environment with the layers of protective equipment you need to wear.

I want students to be able to engage with nuclear because it is such an interesting area to work in, but does get a bad reputation.
