All scientists have a specialty, and even those epidemiologists who are experts on one disease might not be as knowledgeable and experienced as those actively working on another. We definitely need to support people fighting coronavirus, from nurses and doctors on the frontline to researchers trying to find a vaccine and those coming up with ways to handle the outbreak; but pulling *all* scientists together on this problem would unnecessarily create more chaos and delay – and that’s clearly not what we want right now!

Basically what Baptiste said! I would also add that everybody working on this is doing their best helping in whatever ways they can; whether that’s manufacturing hand sanitizer, following social distancing advice, washing their hands regularly, or researching a cure. This health emergency requires a communal effort from all of us, and every part people play is important – big or small 🙂
