• Question: What is it like travelling around the world as an anthropologist?

      It’s probably just like travelling the world as a regular non-anthropologist – only you find yourself suddenly a lot more interested in the deeper meanings behind cultural differences and their impact on that particular society. My school teacher described it once as putting on a pair of glasses that you can never take off again. Once you put on your ‘cultural lenses’, where you start searching for cultural constructs that differ between societies and the impacts they have, you can never take them off.
