      I’m not religious myself, but grew up in a family that was (loosely) Catholic, so I guess there was some inspiration from John the Baptist, probably. What’s weird is that the name “Jean-Baptiste” is much more popular in France than “Baptiste”.

      It comes from the Greek “baptizein”, which roughly means “to put under water” – hence the word “baptism” 🙂
